Department Summary:

The Mission Resilience and Crypto Department (N141) is seeking a Cyber Intelligence Systems Engineer to join the Cyber Division team and contribute to our work program.

The Mission Resilience and Crypto Department delivers threat informed cyber engineering analyses to drive current and future warfighter capabilities throughout AFLCMC and 16AF. Working closely with multiple DAF organizations, we identify cyber threats which incapacitate the warfighter's ability to employ air power. Our engineering analysis is informed by intelligence assessments of both adversary kill chains and threats to US kill chains. In collaboration with MITRE Labs and project leaders, we conduct engineering assessments of evolving threats identifying potential mitigation options, and, where applicable, perform experimentation with threat mitigation capabilities.

Roles and Responsibilities:

The successful candidate is expected to:

  • Develop tailored, engineering-level Intelligence products that provide decision quality recommendations to senior leaders within the DAF.

  • Provide threat informed mitigation recommendations to senior leaders across the DAF ensuring the ability of weapon systems to fight through an attack.

  • Provide strong thought/technical leadership to identify threats to “classes of weapon systems” in order to ensure MITRE is addressing the sponsor’s most challenging technical concerns utilizing new and existing intelligence data and sources.

  • Collaborate, coordinate, and communicate with applicable PLs and A&SF Center division/department leadership frequently to maximize impacts across all existing and new projects.

    Basic Qualifications:

  • Active Top-Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI.

  • Extensive knowledge of cyber vulnerabilities.

  • Demonstrated record of successful technical team leadership.

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across teams and projects.

  • Strong interpersonal skills as well as effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree intelligence, cryptography, cyber security, or related field; or 6 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years’ experience; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.

  • Motivation to expand knowledge and skills and assume responsibility.

  • This position requires a minimum of 50% hybrid on-site

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Top Secret/SCI Clearance.

  • Demonstrated ability to align diverse resources to tackle large challenges to maximize impact and deliver results that could not be achieved otherwise.

  • 2+ years of experience acting as team leader.

  • Track record of innovative thinking.
