MITRE's Enterprise Intelligent Discovery Department is seeking a hands-on team leader who is passionate about data to re-imagine ways to make our structured and unstructured data available for reuse across MITRE systems on-prem and in cloud environments. Successful candidates will be highly motivated and able to share their experience in cloud data design, along with their knowledge of data virtualization platforms and data analysis tools. This role will be pivotal in ensuring the seamless operation of our data systems and driving our data strategy forward.

Job Highlights

• Develop and implement data virtualization strategies to improve data access, integration, and aggregation.

• Ensure the security, reliability, and scalability of our data.

• Manage on-premises and cloud databases, data virtualization platforms, and multiple reporting and data analysis tools.

• Maintain audit compliance with InfoSec, DFARS and other business requirements.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve data-related issues.

• Lead a team of data professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and training as needed.

• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to team members.

• Stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies in data virtualization and related fields.

  Basic Qualifications

• Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a master’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years’ experience; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.

• 4 years of experience managing data in the cloud, especially Microsoft Azure.

• Broad knowledge of data virtualization, reporting and analysis tools. Hands-on experience with Denodo, Tableau, PowerBI, and/or Cognos BI preferred.

• Enjoy a balanced work-life with our 50% hybrid schedule.

  Preferred Qualifications

• Proven experience in a leadership role with a focus on data management and operations. Includes experience building, retaining, and growing staff and leading distributed teams.

• Experience managing structured and unstructured data stores.

• Experience deploying cloud services using Terraform and Infrastructure-as-Code.

• Capable of defining and executing on a strategic vision.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
