The MITRE Corporation Lead Virtualization Engineer in Bedford, Massachusetts

We are looking for a senior virtualization engineer that will help us grow and maintain our compute and Virtualization technologies. Help us move our work program forward by combining your strong IT skills with automation and DevOps to deliver our services faster, better and more scalable.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret clearance

  • Ability to obtain and maintain DoD 8570 IAT I-compliant certification

  • 5-8 years of progressive experience and responsibility in user -facing environments.

  • Virtualization Infrastructure administration in multiple environments/locations

  • Scripting/Configuration Management/Automation.

  • VDI technologies

  • Solid program & project management skills

  • Strong communication and documentation skills

  • General network understanding

Required Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with managing a Windows supporting services environment, including WSUS, Network Policy Server, Certificate Services

  • Familiarity with scripting and automation tools, including batch scripts, PowerShell, automation with PDQ Inventory/Deploy, Ansible, Chef, or other similar tools

  • Experience with STIGs and system hardening through Group Policy and/or automation,

  • Experience with VMware vCenter/vSphere, and VDI implementations using VMware Horizon

  • Experience with Linux scripting and automation tools including shell scripting, python/perl, Ansible, Chef, or other similar tools

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Strong written and verbal communications skills

  • Demonstrated ability to develop effective technical and support documentation to include design & test plans, implementation plans, and automation plans using standard templates (where existing) or proposing & creating new templates where needed.

  • Ability to review operational metrics and make analytic decisions/recommendations about operational infrastructure performance

  • Deploy all hardware/software configurations following established standards in an automatable and auditable method.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in one of the following disciplines, Electrical, Computer or Systems Engineering.

  • 5-8 years of progressive experience and responsibility in user -facing environments.

  • Citrix VDI infrastructure and application support

  • VMware vCenter and associated enterprise components including

  • ESXi

  • vCloud Director

  • Orchestrator

  • NSX

  • Microsoft virtualization products including

  • Hyper-V

  • VMM

  • Azure Stack

  • Azure Cloud Services

  • Configuration Management products tools

  • Chef

  • Ansible
