Position Summary

The Manager, Training Operations reports to the Director, Training and Development. Leads a team responsible for operational support for various training programs and learning platforms across the Instrumentation Laboratory (IL) organization, including but not limited to Operations/Manufacturing, Regulatory Compliance, Commercial Operations, and Leadership/Management training. Maintains training databases to ensure the company follows appropriate Quality and Regulatory requirements associated with training. Monitors and evaluates training programs, processes and workflows for effectiveness, and drives process improvements. Partners with internal stakeholders and subject matter experts to develop a standardized strategy and framework for instructional design, delivery and tracking of training.

Key Accountabilities

Essential Functions:

  • Leads a team of training operations personnel, with responsibility for hiring, setting direction, monitoring performance, coaching and development of staff.

  • Collaborates with Quality Assurance and Regulatory Assurance to understand the regulations governing the training requirements for an IVD company.

  • Collaborates with Quality Assurance in any audit issues related to training requirements.

  • In close collaboration with departmental leaders, manages the process for assessment of organizational training requirements for IL employees and customers.

  • Maintains global control of master data in the training module, including creation of training groups and classes.

  • Ensures that training requirements for IL departments and positions meet the needs of the company and minimum requirements for compliance

  • Works closely with IT to drive the strategy for and administer learning platforms that support blended learning, while ensuring that training requirements are met for regulatory compliance.

  • Regularly monitors and reports on status of training requirements.

  • Provides guidance to the company on delivery methods including technology platforms that support a combination of instructor-led, virtual and e-learning approaches.

  • Delivers operational support for instructor-led training programs through management of training calendars, curriculum, materials, supplies, scheduling, logistics, and tracking.

  • Interfaces with training leaders across other IL sites with regards to standardization of training methods, policies and procedures where applicable.

  • Develops and maintains organizational communications to ensure employees have knowledge of training and development events and resources.

  • Establishes metrics for assess training effectiveness, provides reporting as needed, identifies gaps and makes recommendations to address as appropriate.

Minimum Knowledge & Experience Required:

  • Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources Management, Education, Social Sciences or related field preferred. MBA or master’s degree in Learning and Development or similar discipline is desired but not required.

  • Experience:

  • 5 years of experience in Training and Development, Human Resources, or other relevant business function.

  • Prior experience in a training function required, with knowledge of instructional design, preferably in a regulated industry.

  • Knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (SAP preferred)

  • Learning Management System (LMS) administration experience required
