How will you make an impact?

The Supervisor, Manufacturing Engineering Team will oversee a team of engineers and scientists. The team’s primary focus is to provide engineering support for the manufacturing operations. This includes managing projects, performing investigations, selecting equipment, maintaining documentation and improving cycle time.

What will you do?

  • Ensure safety is a top priority with active measures in place to drive a safe culture.

  • Directly manage the manufacturing engineering team.

  • Define and establish clear objectives and expectations; develop direct reports by providing challenging tasks and assignments.

  • Primary responsibilities include supporting existing production via troubleshooting, selecting equipment, driving improvements and assisting operations.

  • Establish key performance indicators that drive change and visibility to the team and leadership. Track, trend, and monitor routinely with active data analysis rigor performed to drive the continuous improvement culture.

  • Effectively use prioritization mechanisms to utilize resources across teams.

  • Promote a working environment that encourages employee involvement to achieve operational excellence.

  • Develop direct reports by effectively using the PMD (Performance Management Discussion) process and offer clear and constructive feedback.

  • Actively support employee training and professional development

How will you get here?

Education:

  • Minimum required education: Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or technical field (preferably Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or equivalent)

Experience:

  • Minimum of 4 years of process engineering and project work in a manufacturing/regulated industry

  • Related experience within a manufacturing/ regulated industry

  • Experience with DeltaV Process Control System and SAP in a cGMP environment is desirable.

  • Minimum of 2 years of project and/or personnel leadership

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Ability to handle complex process, business and personnel issues independently

  • Knowledge of engineering principles, chemistry (specifically polymerization), molecular biology and manufacturing processes

  • Exposure to quality systems (ISO9001, ISO13485 or FDA)

  • Thorough understanding of manufacturing processes

  • Demonstrated ability to direct personnel to accomplish daily work as well as periodic special projects.

  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, etc.) and other similar software

  • Ability to problem solve and work efficiently under pressure

  • Knowledge of lean principles, six sigma or PPI experience preferred
