The Center for Securing the Homeland (CSH) Data Analytics Department is seeking an experienced open-source intelligence analyst who will join a team of data scientists and engineers supporting MITRE’s sponsors. The explosion of data and complexity of problems facing DHS requires an innovative approach which MITRE is leading through the application of new technology and techniques. You will work on real world problems related to cybersecurity, infrastructure protection, immigration, disaster response, maritime awareness, and many others.

Basic Qualifications:
Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years’ experience; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
Applicants selected for this position will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or applicants who are eligible for security clearances.
Required Qualifications:
Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience in the preparation of comprehensive written reports, presentations, and charts based on research, collection, and analysis of data
Demonstrated experience in performing complex analytical investigations
Knowledge of open-source information sources and excellent internet research skills
Ability to find patterns in data and clearly articulate the entire analysis (e.g., methodology, results, assumptions, constraints) using various suites of tools
Possess fundamental understanding of analytical equipment and tools to include open-source intelligence (OSINT) platforms
Preferred Qualifications :
Prior experience using existing open-source analytic methodologies to apply specialized tools and capabilities in support of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) mission space.
Prior experience working with sponsors, vendors, and partner contractors to gain understanding of sponsor business challenges and evaluate possible technical solutions
Prior experience working in a customer facing environment
Prior experience working on government projects
Prior experience in leading teams
Formal training in intelligence analysis
Hands on experience using link analysis and other analytical techniques to visualize relationships
Advanced and proven ability to:
Assess the gaps between current capabilities and target business/sponsor needs
Analyze and align business and technology strategies
Identify, analyze, and recommend high-impact alternative solutions and prototypes
