Our North American Commercial Operations, as well as our Headquarters and Technology Center for Hemostasis and Acute Care Diagnostics, are based in Bedford, MA. Our Headquarters and Technology Center for Autoimmunity Diagnostics is based in San Diego, CA. Additionally, our Technology Center for Hemostasis and Blood Gas Reagents is in Orangeburg, NY, and our Technology Center for Whole Blood Hemostasis is in San Diego, CA.
Position Summary:
Provides leadership to a production team in the achievement of quality, safety and cost goals. Performs duties of Group Leader while also initiating and executing significant quality and cost improvement projects and supporting new product introductions.
Key Accountabilities
Essential Functions:
Supports Supervisor/Manager in assigning duties and monitoring performance of other employees.
Initiates and execute projects to improve quality, safety and reduce cost.
Utilizes Lean manufacturing concepts to improve the operation.
Manages department inventory of parts & supplies; Issue purchase orders for supplies.
Ensures all personnel are following all safety guidelines, including wearing designated PPE.
Ensures all personnel in the area are in compliance with all documentation.
Ensures production is reported accurately and in a timely fashion.
Ensures gages and other instruments are in calibration at all times.
Ensures employees are properly trained and audited for quality of work; Complete re-training as necessary.
Responds to problems that arise in the area, investigate and develop/implement corrective actions

Minimum Knowledge & Experience Required for the Position:
External hire: 5 to 10 years applicable experience in a manufacturing environment; 4 year college degree preferred
Internal promotion: 5 years’ experience in a related Manufacturing/QC role and exceeds expectations ratings with educational experience preferred (4 year college degree).
Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and basic statistical techniques. SAP knowledge is preferred
Prior experience in an FDA/cGMP or other regulated environment
