LogixHealth Senior Network Engineer in Bedford, Massachusetts
Location: Bedford, MA; Hybrid
This Role:
The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for configuring, maintaining, monitoring, and securing LogixHealth’s global network infrastructure in a highly available 7x24 environment. This role involves working with a globally distributed team to design and build cutting-edge solutions that improve the healthcare industry. The engineer will contribute to a fast-paced, collaborative environment and mentor others.
Key Responsibilities:
Create, implement, and maintain policies and procedures for network administration based on industry-standard best practices.
Assess the need for any network reconfigurations (minor or significant), path of execution and implementation.
Conduct research on emerging products, services, protocols, and standards in support of networking enhancements.
Interact and negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to implement services and products.
Recommend, schedule, and perform networking improvements, upgrades, and/or purchases.
Deploy, manage, and maintain all network infrastructure devices and their corresponding associated software, including but not limited to, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, switches, SD-WAN devices, Application Delivery Controllers, Wi-Fi, and VoIP system solutions.
Administer and troubleshoot client connections (e.g., IPSec VPN, SFTP).
Administer all Network Devices (routers, switches, appliances) in the Global Infrastructure.
Effectively use ticketing and work management systems to resolve incidents and organize projects.
Monitor networking logs and traffic for performance issues; digest information and make recommendations for resolutions accordingly.
Recommend, schedule (where appropriate), and apply solutions, security patches, disaster recovery procedures, and any other measures required.
Participate in after-hours projects related to network maintenance and on-call rotation as needed.
Provide mentorship to junior team members.

Required:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
5+ years of network engineering experience
Proficient hands-on experience and understanding of fundamental networking concepts such as IP subnetting, routing, and switching
Strong familiarity with common protocols such as TCP/IP, SNMP, BGP, OSPF/RIP/EIGRP, IPSEC, SFTP, STP, LACP, DNS, DHCP, QoS, and VoIP
Familiarity with Cloud technologies and hybrid networking (e.g., Microsoft Azure)
Broad hands-on knowledge of networking industry-standard best practices
Network automation skills using infrastructure as code tools, such as Ansible, Terraform, Pulumi
Scripting skills utilizing languages such as, Python, Go, PowerShell, Bash
Extensive knowledge of next-generation firewalls, preferably Palo Alto
Extensive knowledge of Cisco routers and switches (e.g. Cisco IOS, NX-OS)
Knowledge of Application Delivery controllers (e.g. F5, Netscaler)
Knowledge of supporting an enterprise wireless network (e.g. Aruba, Cisco Meraki)
Knowledge of applicable practices and laws relating to data privacy and protection such as PCI, SOC 2, HIPAA, Mass 201 CMR 17 data privacy
High level of analytical and problem-solving abilities including critical thinking
Strong aptitude for continued learning
Strong organizational and project management skills
Able to work in a team-oriented, collaborative, global environment
Ability to create and maintain documentation for knowledge base articles, team training, procedure and policy documents, network diagrams
Ability to communicate effectively with global team members
Preferred:
Networking certifications are a plus (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, PCSNE, CompTIA Network+).
