MITRE’sKnowledge, Information, and Collaboration Solutions Division and the Office ofInnovation and Technology of the CIO seeks an Administrative Assistant to serveas primary administrative support to several Directors and associatedteams. The Administrative Assistant will serve as a strategic partner andkey point of coordination for division leadership. The successfulcandidate will be responsible for providing executive level support duties andwill interact with MITRE Directors and senior staff, Corporate Officers,customers, and strategic partners (internal and external to MITRE).


  • Complete a broad variety of administrative tasks including: managingextremely active calendars of appointments; completing expense reports;composing and preparing correspondence that is sometimes confidential.

  • Provide communications support including drafting and reviewing emails,reports, memos, presentations, internal and external communications.

  • Contribute to special projects/initiatives as needed.

  • Arrange complex and detailed travel plans, itineraries, and agendas; andcompiling documents for travel-related meetings; provide full itineraries inCalendar and circulate as necessary

  • Manage director’s time proactively, review calendars and adjusting conflict.Working closely and effectively with the directors, help identify priorities,strategically align time to keep him/her well informed of upcoming commitmentsand responsibilities, following up appropriately.

  • Answer and screen telephone calls; respond to routing questions, route callsto appropriate personnel, and/or relay messages accurately.

  • Support strategic events and strategic customer and internal meetinglogistics.

  • Help directors develop and maintain relationships with key external partners(enter and update partner-related CRM data).

  • Manage director and officer-level primary and follow-up engagements forhigh-value, strategic, external partners.

  • Purchase supplies on division MITRE Purchase Card and reconciliation ofcharges.

  • Set up and maintain confidential files, organizational charts, telephone andsignificant event rosters.

  • Attend meetings and conferences when required, provide set-up assistance forVTC’s, and take meeting notes for review and distribution.

  • Provide administrative support to other MITRE organizations as required.

  • Work closely with other Divisions’ admin staff and Executive Assistants,promoting a smooth-running administrative team with divisions’ and departments’admin staff.

  • Be engaged and available in all corporately support and experimentalproductivity and collaboration capabilities.



The Administrative Assistant will have exceptional written and verbalcommunication skills; be very organized and detailed-oriented; comfortableworking in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, sometimes under pressure, while remainingflexible, proactive, and efficient; deal effectively and tactfully with allMITRE personnel, sponsors, and visitors; pay attention to detail; followthrough on assignments; and work effectively with little supervision.

Required Education/Experience

  • Strong work tenure: five years of experience supporting technology Executives

  • AA or BA with 5 years of related experience.
