What Warehouse Operations contributes to Cardinal Health

  • Warehouse Operations is responsible forperforming/controllinga combination of manual or automated tasks necessary for the receipt, storage, and shipment of product.
  • This may include functions of receiving, picking, packing, shipping, staging, transporting, storage, delivery, etc.
  • Also responsible for the efficient flow of products from the point of product receipt from vendors to the shipment of products (via prescribed service parameters) to a variety of internal and external customers.

Accountabilities

  • Manages staff to ensure timely distribution and receipt of product while meeting distribution center standards of budget, policies, procedures, and quality.
  • Monitors warehouse productivity, adheres to budget requirements, works towardsobtaining distributioncenter programs and coordinating all necessary repairs.
  • Recommends and implements programs, policies, and strategies to increase production and efficient space utilization within the facility.
  • Implements and administers all policies and procedures.
  • Ensures quality service is provided to the customers, ensures prompt follow-through on customer correspondence related to shipment of merchandise and stock-on-hand.
  • Handles general employee inquiries and resolves concerns.
  • Responsible for supervisory and employee population development, training, coaching, counseling and performance appraisals.
  • Maintains positive employee relations.
  • Must be flexible with work schedule to be a visible leader and maximize employee interactions for a multi shift distribution operation.
  • Manager needs to have a presence on both shifts

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’sDegree required, Advanced Degree an asset
  • 6+years’ experience developing and managing teams in Warehouse Operations environment
  • Abilityto lead and manage a team of 55 team members; 1 supervisors, 3 Planners
  • Receiving,Inventory, Shipping, Picking distribution experience preferred
  • Workingknowledge of Six Sigma processes preferred (e.g. LSS Green Belt)
  • ProvenLeader
  • Mustprovide proof of and maintain current immunizations and obtain additional immunizations appropriate for the facility which enables access to customer sites in order to perform essential job functions. Proofs must include: Hepatitis B, Influenza (current year), MMR (mumps, measles, rubella), Varicella (chicken pox) Annual TB/PPD (skin test),Tetanus/Diphteria/Pertussis
  • Strongknowledge of Microsoft Office products
