About This Role
The Global Operations Director will plan, direct, coordinate, and oversee operational activities for the Sensitech business, ensuring development and implementation of efficient processes and cost-effective systems to meet current and future needs of the business. The incumbent will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient production of our industry-leading IoT sensing devices while maintaining the highest quality and safety standards. This position requires strong leadership skills, strategic thinking, and a proven track record of success in production and operations management.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the domestic and international management teams to develop and implement plans for the operational infrastructure of systems, processes, and personnel designed to accommodate the rapid growth objectives of our organization and related order fulfilment activities
Motivate and lead high performance teams; attract, recruit and retain required members of the regional team(s), provide mentoring as needed to promote development and ensure that the functional areas under his/her responsibility operate with improving effectiveness and efficiency and, further, that personnel are developed in anticipation of the future needs of the business
Foster a success-oriented ownership and accountable environment within the business
Participates in the development and preparation of short-term and long-range plans and budgets based upon key organizational strategic goals and objectives
Oversee the sourcing, production, and delivery of our products and services in a secure, environmentally conscious and socially responsible manner in support of ESG goals
Manage facilities by leading with policies, processes and practices intended to create safe, and sustainable environment for our entire workforce.
Lead effort to reduce product costs and contribute to cost optimization programs to meet annual targets
Implement and demonstrate success through the Carrier Excellence framework by driving continuous improvements enhance the customer experience, enable growth, engage employees to continuously improve processes and cultivates a proactive, positive culture
Ensure customer and internal feedback is solicited, researched, prioritized and actioned with clear and transparent communications
Develop, implement and leverage effective resource capacity and utilization reporting
Manage the team to identify and present specific solutions to current project delivery challenges and the implementation plan to remedy existing challenges with detailed expected outcomes
Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the performance of production operations; analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement
Collaborate with Supply Chain and Procurement teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and components; maintain relationships to support the needs of the production process
Drive implementation of proactive quality and problem-solving processes
Leverage Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) methods to drive sustainability initiatives through product designs, manufacturing, distribution and recycling
Ensure compliance of manufacturing, supplier and order fulfillment sites to Carrier EH&S practices

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree
8+ years of experience in manufacturing
5+ years of experience in leadership/people management, including motivating and inspiring teams to achieve goals and/or KPIs
3+ years of experience with business strategy/ continuous improvement, including Executive stakeholder management and communication
Ability to travel up to 25% (Nationally and Internationally)
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's or advanced degree in engineering, manufacturing, or business
Experience with high volume IoT device manufacturing and electronics distribution on a global scale
Negotiating skills with major supply agreements
Leading cross-functional and multi-organizational teams
Understanding of the building of effective supplier and logistics networks
Business acumen and financial skills i.e., budget management and financial analysis
Process improvement methodologies i.e., Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma
Analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail
Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in a manufacturing operations environment
Knowledge and practical understanding of logistics and supply chain related products
