MACHINIST I ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The incumbent may be required to perform all or a combination of the following essential functions as determined by business necessity. 1. Operate CNC and manual machines. 2. Determine dimensions and tolerances of pieces to be machined, sequence of operations and machines required by studying specifications such as blue prints, sketched, damaged part or description of part. 3. Plan and execute assignments using machine tools ranging from lathes to milling machines. 4. May operate computer console/computer controlled machine. 5. Utilize precision measuring instruments to check accuracy of work. NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: In addition to the essential functions listed above, the incumbent may be required to perform other non-essential functions. Employees are required to follow any other job-related instructions and to perform any other job-related duties as requested by their supervisor. QUALIFICATIONS: 1. High school graduate or equivalent. 2. Machine shop training in mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties and layout and machining experience. 3. Minimum of two years of machining experience.
