Massachusetts Employer Test Stand Technician in Beverly, Massachusetts
Job Title: Test Stand Technician Classification: Non-Exempt Reports to: Engineering Manager Summary/Objective In this role you will be responsible for maintaining and updating all of the Harmonic Drive, LLC test stands. Hands on assembly and testing experience required. Ability to function in a fast-paced manufacturing environment in collaboration on multiple task with other departments is required. Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. * Test stand maintenance to include calibration, organization, and inventory management of required test equipment, fixtures, and hardware. * Test validation and performance requirements * Create and update test stand set up and programs * Assist with the creation of test procedures and work instructions * Assist in the organization of Root Cause Analysis investigations relating to testing requirements * Create of Deficiency Reports (DR) related to product test requirement non-conformances and implementing any corrective actions. Competencies * Understanding of basic computer operations * Knowledge of MS Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc. * Strong written and verbal communication skills * Ability to setup equipment, do assembly, and perform tests * Detail orientated and mechanically inclined * Ability to clearly record test data * Understanding the need for careful handling and cleanliness of parts and equipment * A team player with a willingness to work with engineering and ask for help when needed * Willingness to get dirty and work in tight spaces * Willingness to learn a. Basic LabView b. Basic electrical safety i. AC/DC currents ii. ESD c. Basic motion control i. Encoders ii. Torque Sensors iii. Brakes iv. Couplings v. AC/DC motor drives d. Basic understanding of electrical, mechanical and assembly drawings JOB POSTING Supervisory Responsibility This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Work Environment This job routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers as well as electrical and environmental test equipment located in production and in dedicated laboratories. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate both verbally and written. The employee frequently is required to move about the office and shop, use a computer, maintenance tools, and use hands and arms within tight places. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time, 40-hour position, Monday through Friday, during normal business hours. Travel Little travel is expected for this role.
