About the Job

Position Summary:

The Vice President of Addison Gilbert Hospital works in collaboration with the Senior Executive team to ensure the achievement of the mission of Lahey Health. The V.P. has responsibility for patient safety, quality, operations, financial performance, community relations, planning and philanthropy for Addison Gilbert Hospital.

Responsibilities

Leadership Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all departments and programs located at Addison Gilbert Hospital

  • Establishes operating plans and approves appropriate allocation of resources that align with Lahey Health organizational goals

  • Communicates organizational mission to direct reports

  • Ensures patient safety and quality of care

  • Responsible that each customer has a sensational experience

  • Responsible for good stewardship of resources

  • Ensures that staffing is appropriate to meet objectives and scope of service

  • Represents Addison Gilbert Hospital and Lahey Health in the Cape Ann community

  • Develops strategic plan for Addison Gilbert Hospital

  • Promotes multidisciplinary approach to problem solving Operational Responsibilities

  • Duel oversight of all operational activities at Addison Gilbert, focusing on quality, customer service, patient satisfaction, and financial performance

  • Administrative oversight of the AGH Hospitalist service

  • Promotes volume growth, new services or programs and operational efficiencies through collaboration with the medical staff

  • Serves as a role model for reporting directors and managers through example and by actively participating in and encouraging their professional development

  • Communicates effectively regarding organization plans, developments, and strategic direction

  • Encourages a participative management approach to problem solving

  • Ensures effective functioning of hospitalist program at AGH

  • Remains visible and accessible to staff and management Financial Responsibilities

  • Profit and loss responsibility for Addison Gilbert Hospital

  • Reviews and authorizes purchases in accordance with approved budget

  • Provides budget variances to Executive Vice President/Chief Operating Officer

  • Identifies opportunities for cost reductions, revenue enhancement, and volume growth in all areas Other

  • Responsible for executive oversight of Meaningful Use program

  • In addition, serves as Administrator On-Call on a rotating basis, resolving both administrative and legal issues as appropriate after the end of regular business hours

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Five to seven years of experience in healthcare senior leadership

  • Master’s degree in business or equivalent required

  • Five to seven years of hospital operations experience

  • Well-versed in health care financial matters, including general knowledge of government reimbursement

  • Demonstrated competence in leading and in building an effective team
