A Lab Technician is needed for a multinational corporation that produces mirrors as well as a variety of construction, high-performance, and other materials in the Billerica, MA area. The Lab Technician prepares and tests material samples, engages in experiment design and development, maintains laboratory equipment, and reports data, with a focus on quality and effective coordination.

salary: $24 - 27 per hour

work hours: 8am to 4pm

education: High School

responsibilities:

• Perform day-to-day operations in the material testing laboratory, including mortar testing.

• Prepare and process material samples for testing.

• Engage in both standard and exploratory experiment design.

• Conduct routine laboratory activities to prepare materials and test samples.

• Undertake development work on non-routine R&D assignments, such as designing experimental fixtures and establishing data acquisition methods.

• Collect, report, and coordinate scientific and engineering data from laboratory equipment.

• Maintain and update laboratory notebooks with accurate data.

Skills: Experience with routine laboratory activities, including material preparation and sample testing.

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED.

• 2+ years of experience in lab work and chemical handling.

Preferred Qualification:

• Associate's degree in engineering, technical, or science-related field.

• Mechanical aptitude.

• 2+ years of construction experience.

• Concrete/cement experience.
