Job Summary:

The Business Development Senior Director identifies new opportunities to use our core biometric products, capabilities and algorithms to bring new solutions to market – conducting research and surveys, meeting with customers, and working with sales and business development to identify end-customer needs primarily in state and federal government agencies. He/she completes competitive research, clarifies and communicates customer problems, and defines the best solutions to be offered. The product manager develops pricing models, tracks development costs, and creates revenue forecasts to measure ROI – ensuring all offerings meet revenue objectives and profit margins. He/she works with product marketing to develop and implement go-to-market strategies, and measures post-launch performance against business, operational and revenue targets.


  • Gather business needs from external and internal customers, separate signal from noise and determine the priority and value of needs based on analysis

  • Convert business needs / voice of customer to product roadmap(s) and own the proposal, execution and communicatiProduon of roadmaps to internal stakeholders and at customer meetings

  • Manage Product IRAD investment including working with Business unit leaders on business plans, ROI and SWOT analysis.

  • Work with pricing team to provide technical parameters (including sizing, costs etc) and ensure pricing strategy is in line with the market, competitive products, and business goals

  • Execute on planned roadmap, working with the various engineering and project managers while managing global risks

  • Analyze potential partner relationships for the product offerings

  • Own and lead New Product Introduction (NPI) and Go To Market (GTM) process for defined product portfolios while working with various cross functional stakeholders within the organization.

  • As a Business Owner, provide vision and needs for the product versions and work closely with Product Owners to provide concrete needs and priorities

  • Be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the product(s) managed to support bids, presales efforts and program deployment and maintenance

  • Provide Product Requirement Documents (PRDs) / User Stories to engineering with clear product capabilities roadmap.

  • Collaborate with User Experience Teams to ensure needs are captured in mockups and wireframes to be provided to engineering complementary to the Business Needs / Epics

  • Support product marketing with sales training and marketing communications on launch plans and activities with product / solution vision, plans and market dynamics.

  • Stay abreast of and ensures incorporation of current technologies to facilitate continuous improvement

  • Represent the company within the Identity and Biometric Industry by making presentations on products to current or potential customers, by writing papers, etc.

  • Visit customers to solicit feedback on company products and services, etc.

Required Skills

Minimum requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the biometrics field

  • Product Management experience desired

  • Action oriented, creativity, decision quality, priority management are required skills

  • Positive attitude, enthusiasm and a team player

  • Strong presentation skills and ability to communicate the benefits of our solution and demonstrate products with confidence and ease

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s in Engineering or Business preferred

Required Experience

Qualifications, Education and Experience:

  • Experience marketing biometric-based solutions is essential.

  • A track record for bringing biometric solutions to market servicing Law Enforcement as well as Federal government agencies is strongly desired.

  • Strategic product management experience that spans solution strategy, pricing models, forecasting to support business goals.

  • Minimum 8 years Product Management experience with responsibility for a biometric solution. Track record must demonstrate the ability to define strategy and transform that strategy into business results.

  • Experience being a product evangelist and experience speaking at industry tradeshows.

  • Demonstrated business judgment, leadership, and creative problem solving.

  • An understanding of identity solutions and prior work with U.S. Government agencies is a huge plus.

  • Ability to resolve issues and overcome barriers with minimal supervision in a fast-paced demanding environment is a must.

  • Experience in both large company and small start-up environments are highly desirable.

  • Strong financial and analytical skills.

  • Action-oriented, creative, customer-centered, with the ability to manage expectations and prioritize tasks.

  • Strong skills in communication, leadership, and effective meeting facilitation with cross-functional teams are required.

  • Strong presentation skills and ability to communicate well to diverse groups across the company at all levels, including corporate executives.

  • Successful experience using the Pragmatic Marketing framework strongly desired.
