Performance Development Group 1099 Contract - Learning Performance Consultant - Anywhere in the US in Boston, Massachusetts

Position Summary

The Learning and Development Performance Consultant assists companies in gaining maximum value from their people by designing and overseeing the implementation of innovative business-oriented learning solutions. The goal is to improve human performance and as a result, the business. These solutions may include learning and development recommendations, curriculum design, performance improvement and measurement strategies, and change initiatives. The Managing Consultant is passionate about improving performance and maintaining standards of excellence in all project deliverables.

This role is a remote 1099 contract role and is project-based. Some onsite client meetings may be required.

Requirements

Education and Professional Experience

The Performance Consultant has:

  • Bachelor?s Degree in a related discipline

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in the areas of performance consulting, adult learning, human performance technology, change management, or training and development

  • Experience in the Life Sciences or Financial Services industries preferred

Key Skills

In a consultative capacity, the Performance Consultant will:

  • Collaborate with business development / account managers and clients to define the business objective, the assessment process, identification of structural and cultural changes; and the learning recommendations required to achieve business objectives.

  • Guide and work with clients through goal definition, opportunity identification, and learning solutions using problem-solving principles and experience.

  • Create actionable solution designs that solve client issues such as learning journeys across a variety of media and program modification for extensive system changes, ensuring the link to our clients' performance outcomes.

  • Ability to use diagnostic and assessment tools, analyze textual and numerical data, identify root causes/trends, and create a simple, effective summary/design for the client to solve their challenges.

  • Plan and manage efforts to define organizational processes, capabilities, change management, application of key technologies, and performance metrics.

  • Design learning, performance, evaluation, and communication strategies and solutions.

  • Analyze complex onboarding program and make recommendations to streamline and enhance the learner experience.

  • Engage the client to understand strategic changes in the business and make recommendations for aligning the program to the changes; follow though by ensuring design team integrates newly aligned changes to learning solutions.

  • Build business cases and monitor achievement of strategic, financial, and operational benefits, ensuring planned business outcomes are achieved.

The Managing Consultant can:

  • Maintain strong internal and external client relationships and work as a team player all around.

  • Influence without authority - able to impart wisdom and make suggestions that are appreciated and thus followed without being autocratic; making the client feel like it was their own idea.

  • Demonstrate advanced proficiency in written and verbal communication skills; translate written content into visual descriptions (presentations, graphics, interactive charts and graphs, etc.) and formally present ideas and deliverables during the project.

  • Thrive in a fast-paced, project-driven organization - manage multiple priorities and project deadlines, including tracking and managing within project hours and budgets.

  • Adapt quickly and easily to changing requirements and needs from internal and external clients; respond to and modify recommendations in the moment, based on observing and reading client reactions.

  • Use Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, with minimal support.
