Job Summary:

The Account Manager supports the marketing and sales efforts to promote company products, including the exploration of avenues for increased utilization of products; develops and supports ongoing client relationships by providing clinical, educational, and operational support through direct interaction; extends and expands ("upsells") new products and services to existing clients; and provides overall client support ensuring existing client contractual obligations are met as outlined in the contract terms and renewed. 

Essential Job Functions:

Client/Consultant Management: Nurture and develop overall business relationships with assigned market segment accounts. Establish and/or improve positive strategic relationships with senior client executives and respective consultants. Resolve customer issues including resolution of technical and/or customer service problems. Conduct formal periodic review meetings with clients to review performance, surface any threats and opportunities, and discuss new ideas and solutions. Effectively manage customer's requests for program deviations that may negatively impact Sharecare ability to efficiently deliver services to all customers.  

Contract Expansion/Up-sell: Aggressively identify and pursue opportunities for contract expansion. Use consultative selling practices to uncover issues related to the customers’ needs and proactively identify solutions to customer issues by linking opportunities to contract scope expansion. Maintain knowledge of competitor's sales activities and general competitive intelligence. 

Contract Renewal: Lead and support the renewal strategy development, packaging, presentation and negotiation activities to retain and grow profitable existing business. Conduct pre-renewal internal strategy meetings to discuss customer issues, problems, needs, opportunities, competitive threats and alternatives to be proposed. Present clients with a comprehensive, professional and compelling renewal package. Interpret financial data and provide input on pricing. Coordinate and prepare for renewal and RFP responses as applicable. 

Strategic Planning: Develop long-term strategic plans for clients designed to ensure account retention and short-term tactical plans to ensure customer satisfaction. Discuss customer issues affecting the cost-of-service delivery and margin and identify creative solutions to those issues. Ensure profitability of individual accounts and overall Sharecare profitability. 

Implementation and Service Delivery: Lead the implementation and service delivery of new accounts. Improve and maintain the implementation process and ensure consistency and success of implementations. Communicate to the Director, Client Relations the issues that arise during implementation. Ensure that implementation activities are achieved on schedule and as required. 

Reporting: Prepare necessary data, reports, and course of action in managing and renewing clients (e.g., monthly, quarterly and/or annual reporting) as needed. Review and analyze reports for accuracy and outcomes needed to satisfy the client. Present reports to senior executives.  

Specific Skills/ Attributes:

  • Skillful negotiator, excellent with conflict resolution.  

  • Ability to build relationships with clients and to develop unique client focused solutions based on strong understanding of client business challenges and needs. 

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and effective presentation skills are required.  


  • Bachelor's degree is strongly preferred (or four additional years of direct experience may be considered in lieu of a degree).  

  • Minimum of 2-5+ years of progressive experience in an account executive type role is required. This experience should be in a healthcare setting predominately in a sales/marketing capacity, in an operations capacity, or both. 

  • Ability to travel as business needs required. (50% +) 

  • Computer skills including knowledge of MS-Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MS-Outlook. 

  • Demonstrated consultative sales and client relationship management abilities.
