Boston University ASSISTANT DIRECTOR, REAL ESTATE SERVICES, Office of Real Estate in BOSTON, Massachusetts
The Assistant Director, Real Estate Services provides a suite of services including tenant representation, lease management, due diligence and closing coordination, management of gifted properties, and real estate service procurement. Reporting to the Associate Vice President of Real Estate, the Assistant Director manages University real estate activities primarily for right-of-use and short-term assets, which includes residential, commercial, and specialized property such as mineral rights. As the tenant representative for more than thirty sites, the incumbent must develop a complete understanding of end user needs, identify barriers and challenges, analyze deal terms and financials, and synthesize this information with market conditions to deliver real estate solutions.
Creates leases and coordinates activities pursuant to lease terms; tracks payments, fees, and key dates; develops and manages budgets; audits and abstracts real estate agreements; and processes renewals and terminations.
Delivers comprehensive due diligence and closing coordination to ensure that buyer and seller requirements are met and to inform strategic decisions about transactions.
Collects, organizes, and distributes critical information about subject properties, such as inspections, title, surveys, financing, insurance, property taxes, utilities and services, and environmental reports.
Manages gifted property and monitors such assets' value and performance to ensure alignment with monetization strategies and gift terms and conditions.
Coordinates the procurement of real estate service providers such as brokers, appraisers, and advisors to support complex projects.
Required Skills
Licensed Real Estate Salesperson, Commonwealth of MA, preferred. This is a cross-functional role that requires collaboration with teams across the organization and excellent project management and communication skills.
