WSP USA Assistant Vice President, Water Resources Engineering in Boston, Massachusetts

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Senior Water Resources Engineer for our Boston, MA office.

Be involved in projects with our Water Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, with a focus in Water Resources or closely related discipline

  • 10 to 15 years of relevant post education experience in water resources engineering

  • Professional Engineer (PE) in Massachusetts

YOUR IMPACT:

  • Responsibilities include technical leadership of projects and staff involved in a variety of planning, design and construction projects.

  • Contributing to constructability/design coordination/quality control for various business lines (transportation, property and buildings, energy, etc.) including the review of drawings and specifications.

  • Support business development activities through existing and new client relationships. Participate in proposals, interviews and other activities to win work.

  • Coordinating and delivering engineering services. Preparation of program reporting including costs, schedule, change control, progress, risk and issue resolution for the program.

  • Support regulatory process with client and/or partners.

  • Mentor, delegate and supervise tasks performed by engineering staff.

  • Mentor staff to support their growth and professional development.

  • Remain current in latest civil and water resources engineering techniques.

  • Collaborates with professionals from a variety of disciplines to provide future ready solutions for clients.

  • Participate in external organizations. Prepare abstracts and presentations.

  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

WHO YOU ARE

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Water Resources or closely related field.

  • 15+ years of relevant post education experience in an engineering office with a focus on the land development, water/sewer/drain infrastructure, roadway infrastructure, stormwater management and

  • Professional Engineering License (PE) in MA required. Licenses in RI, CT and/or NH a plus.

  • Extensive experience in the planning, design and construction of multi-discipline projects that include land development, public/private utility infrastructure and roadway design, is required as well as experience in client development.

  • Successful candidates must have the ability to work both independently and within a team environment with the capability to delegate and supervise tasks to support staff.

  • Strong writing skills to support technical reporting as well as strong oral communication skills are required.

  • Demonstrated client relationship and management experience.

  • Ability to perform field work/site visits required and some travel required.

  • Must possess a valid US driver's license and successfully complete and pass WSP’s Motor Vehicle screening.

  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.

  • Must be flexible to a variety of schedules to meet business needs and able to prioritize responsibilities and quickly adapt to change in a pressure work environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PE or ability to gain reciprocity in multiple New England states.

  • Willingness to travel inside/outside US.
