Sunrun Associate Construction Quality Manager in Boston, Massachusetts

Overview

The goal of the Field Operations Team is to maximize customer satisfaction, financial performance, and resource efficiency. We preemptively reduce service incidents by ensuring all systems are built in accordance with industry leading quality best practices and utilize reliable equipment from stable manufacturers. The team audits solar installations, analyzes trends and communicates best practices in support of continuous quality improvement and to ensure high quality standards are met.

Responsibilities

  • Assess internal and partner design and installation quality through regular photo reviews

  • Leverage knowledge of solar design, installation techniques, NEC and building codes to determine if the installation was built to standard

  • Support robust quality assurance reporting

  • Gather data to support constructive feedback to design and installation teams

  • Identify and manage actions needed to bring an installation up to standard and initiate all field quality assurance corrections through field service dispatches

  • Act as an internal PV expert for cross department projects and support

  • Contribute to technical documentation including: Technical bulletins, webinar content, training presentations, product reviews

  • Support the field service group through proactive identification of technical issues

Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of experience in the solar industry with at least some field experience installing residential PV systems

  • Relevant past technical roles include: Designer, Installer, Permit Runner, Inspection Coordinator

  • Experience with a wide range of residential solar products (inverters, modules, and BOS) and their operation

  • Experience with the National Electrical Code (NEC)

  • Passionate about PV technology and applications

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Knowledge of residential construction techniques

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to prioritize, execute and follow up on initiatives

  • Critical thinking and ability to solve problems

  • Proven record of good judgment and analytical skills

  • Ability to effectively communicate with cross-functional teams and partners

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Adaptability and comfort working in unstructured and evolving environment

  • Strong desire to Create a Planet Run by the Sun!

  • Experience with Salesforce

  • Experience with Google Docs, Sheets, Slides

  • PV design experience

  • Experience working with a distributed installation partner network

  • NABCEP Entry Level or currently registered in a program

  • Bachelor’s degree (preference for technical area of study)

Physical Demands

  • Ability to perform normal office duties

  • Ability to operate office equipment including computers and determine accuracy of work

Starting salary/wage for this opportunity:

$60,562.00 to $75,756.00

Other rewards may include annual bonus eligibility, which is based on company and individual performance, short and long term incentives, and program-specific awards.
