WSP is currently initiating a search for a full-time Associate Consultant, Structural Engineer for our New England district. The role may report to a local office in Boston/Worcester, MA, Merrimack, NH, Elliot, ME, Providence, RI or Glastonbury, CT.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Bridge and Structure Design, Rehabilitation / Repair / Retrofit of Bridges and other structures

  • CAD experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation

  • Structural Analysis using commercial software programs (

  • Evaluation of Existing Structures including Load Ratings (AASHTOWare BrR)

  • Assistance in the preparation of Quantity Estimates, Specifications, Review of Shop Drawings

  • Preparation of Reports and Participation in Field Work

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree is required with 1-3 years of relevant experience

  • Prior internship experience, leadership experience, or relevant coursework

  • Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Strong technical writing, analytical and communication skills

  • Detail-oriented with an emphasis on quality work products

  • EIT/FE Certification

  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures

  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's graduate program is a plus

  • Working knowledge of AASHTOWare BrR load rating software preferred

  • Focus on structural analysis/design courses preferred

  • Familiarity with commercial drafting and analysis programs preferred
