IBM Associate Partner - Cloud Architect Life Sciences in Boston, Massachusetts


As an IBM Cloud Architect, you directly help clients transform their business and solve complex problems. You will define the scope and vision for projects that deliver customized solutions using your knowledge of IBM platforms. You are a technical leader, serving as a liaison among business partners, technical resources, and project stakeholders.

Your Role and Responsibilities

IBM Cloud Architect, is a technical leader, responsible for leading the creation of a technology framework. and providing technical leadership in support of the Client's Hybrid IT Modernization initiatives in cloud computing and automation, with a focus on the design of systems and services that run on cloud platforms. The Cloud Architect for Life Sciences will work closely with other team leads such as DevSecOps, Application Modernization, and others to provide the overall Life Science account architectural leadership and best practices. The Cloud Architect will be responsible for ensuring that Client Critical applications are designed and optimized for high availability, resilience, scalability, and disaster recovery. This role requires strong leadership and team-building skills and must be able to collaborate effectively with groups of high-performing individuals.


  • Experience owning the End-to-End technical solution of the overall Journey to Cloud Hybrid Cloud Transformation. Expertise in Cloud platforms such as IBM, AWS, Azure, or GCP is required for this role.

  • Experience in designing large and complex IT operations in large organizations, research, or academic environment is required.

  • Expertise in the technical definition in containerization of applications leveraging OpenShift and Kubernetes

  • Known as recognized Thought Leader, with proven track record driving pattern identification and estimation of the application workloads, migrated & modernized to the target Cloud environment

  • Acts as a Trusted Advisor for the client by listening to their pain points and considering the industry the client sits in.

  • Design Modernization strategy and identifying the need for containerization, API, Microservices creation, or other forms of Modernization

  • Interfaces with client executive(s) to clarify technical program status, value proposition, and value realizations along with potential ROI in a clear and concise manner

  • Simplifies the solution approach by adopting a continuous modernization method•

  • Promotes innovation across the solution and delivery phases by leading the Design thinking workshops and leveraging Agile methodologies

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Cloud Platform Certification in IBM Cloud, AWS, Azure, or GCP

  • DevSecOps experience

  • 15+ years of industry experience as an Architect, with 8 years in cloud

  • Deep practical experience in cloud, infrastructure, operations, network, and security

  • Deep practical experience in containerization of applications leveraging OpenShift and Kubernetes (such as ROCKS, AKS, EKS ..)

  • Experience with container deployment on IBM and/or other Cloud platforms

  • Multi-cloud / Hybrid IT Management experience

  • Acts as a Thought Leader, team player, and a team leader

  • Possess confident analytical, creative, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication, strong leadership and team-building skills demonstrate collaboration

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Hands-on style work approach. Ability to demonstrate knowledge of Cloud Architecture, implementation features, and knowledge of cloud design/implementation patterns

  • Additional Cloud Platform Certifications and knowledge are a plus: AWS, Google Cloud, Azure
