Boston University ASST DIR, INTERPERSONAL VIOLENCE PREVENT, Sexual Assault Response and Prevention in BOSTON, Massachusetts
The Assistant Director, Interpersonal Violence Prevention will work collaboratively to apply a public health framework towards the prevention of interpersonal violence on campus. The Violence Prevention Program Manager works collaboratively with the Assistant Director for Interpersonal Violence Prevention to apply a public health framework towards the prevention of interpersonal violence on campus. This position is responsible for the implementation of SARP prevention programming and ensuring that efforts are evidence-based, student-centered, intersectional, and supportive of student development. This position oversees the SARP training program, including the supervision of graduate student facilitators.
Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., public health, macro social work, health communications), master's degree or similar years of work experience preferred.
Ability to work collaboratively within the department and across divisions, including with various stakeholders including the general student body, student volunteers, student employees, peer preventionists, and senior administrators.
Superior oral and written communication skills, including the ability to tailor messaging to target populations. Ability to create messaging for social media.
Ability to successfully multitask, including managing multiple simultaneous programs and multiple student volunteers and employees.
Experience working in a mission-driven department or organization that focuses on the prevention or response to interpersonal violence.
Experience working with adolescents and emerging adults, particularly those in a higher education setting.
Experience with public health program creation and evaluation.
Experience with supervision and oversight of volunteers or staff.
