Performing assistance during audiological evaluations.
Instructing patients and families in the use of hearing technology equipment.
Performing the technical component of newborn hearing screenings per Children's Hospital Boston protocol.
Troubleshooting hearing technology devices, recommending repairs, and drafting requests for authorization of parts and repairs.
Maintaining organization and recording of hearing technology equipment.
Scheduling appointments and meetings.
Maintaining organization of clinical equipment and toys, clinical and research files and records.
Entering data into databases and extracting data as needed.
On occasion, may perform school visits to deliver, troubleshoot, or pick up educational amplification equipment.
Newborn hearing screenings, reporting to the Department of Public Health, and completing clerical duties related to the hearing aid program.
To qualify, you must have:
An associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Communication Disorders.
Eligibility to become licensed as an Audiology Assistant in Massachusetts.
The analytical skills and judgment to interpret data and take the appropriate action in circumstances or situations vary.
The ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Empathy, and the desire and ability to interact effectively with children and parents.
Organization skills, ability to pay attention to detail, and good phone etiquette/customer service.
If not state licensed, you will be hired into Audiology Assistant Trainee role and provided observation hours needed before moving to an Audiology Assistant role.
