As a Business Analyst 2 within the Benefits Delivery & Administration segment of Willis Towers Watson, you will use your technical knowledge, analytical and problem solving skills to provide benefits administration solutions & services to some of the world’s biggest corporations.

A Few Select Responsibilities:


  • Research issues and cases to determine root cause and provide impact analysis for ongoing issues and changes and requests for new functionality with assistance from more senior Business Analysts on some issues.

  • Responsible for any carrier file/database table or manual updates and rollbacks that may be needed because of an issue not related to carriers

  • Perform the system testing process for more complex requirements, defines test scenarios, develops comprehensive test plans with minimal oversight

  • Has a solid understanding how the application is expected to work for a particular client and partners with the internal team to determine the best course of action to resolve issues

  • Secondary support of participant issues (e.g., cases and calc or data issues) that are unable to be resolved by the Business Analyst 1


  • Support client change requests by providing detail and accurate budget estimates to project manager regarding system requirements necessary to implement client change requests

  • Understand Statement of Work (SOW) and be responsible for communicating any work that is requested by the client and is out of scope to the Project Manager for change order identification and review.


  • Provide training on large-scale change orders to internal team and service center, as needed

  • Complete a peer review and sign-off on test plans completed by Business Analyst

  • Responsible for partnering with Business Analyst 1 to generate and sign-off on new ongoing client procedures for recently added services (e.g., new carrier export)


  • Work closely with Developer to ensure project requirements and requests for changes are understood and within standards.

  • Follows the System Development Lifecycle.

  • Research system or data issues that impact carriers that are unable to be resolved by the Business Analyst 1. May need assistance on some issues from a more senior resource.

  • Responsible for creating test plans, and for testing system changes and enhancements following our defined standard practice to ensure completeness and quality (regression testing as necessary) with minimal oversight

  • Understands full testing cycle, including regression testing

  • Proficient understanding and consistent usage of our internal test planning tool

  • Execute all test scenarios within a test plan, report and assist in remediating any issues identified.

  • Assist with identifying and/or creating test cases for our Data Service Team and consult with them on carrier structure issues or changes.

  • Create tickets in issue tracking systems for each Health support code release item

  • Perform medium to complex data queries and analyzes results using applicable querying tools (SQL, Excel) and knowledge of the application’s database structure; digs beneath the surface and tests the validity of information


  • Desire to learn, accept new challenges, and have fun!

  • 3-5 years’ experience as a Business Analyst

  • Understanding of the fundamentals of health and welfare and broader benefit plan design preferred

  • Ability to complete Willis Towers Watson Business Analyst training program

  • Intermediate to advanced SQL skills

  • Experience with relational databases. SQL preferred

  • Experience with test plan creation, testing procedures and test plan execution

  • Strong analytical, integrative and problem solving skills

  • Solid interpersonal skills and client service orientation

  • Ability to work both independently and on client teams, including virtual work teams with members in different geographic regions

  • Strong organizational abilities and flexibility to work in a performance driven environment managing multiple project priorities

  • Sense of accountability, owning one’s work and taking pride in it; commitment to quality and continuous improvement

  • Ability to travel and work extended hours as needed
