Amazon Business Developer II, Payer Partner in Boston, Massachusetts

Amazon Pharmacy is seeking a driven, talented, and experienced business development manager to define and manage critical relationships with large Health Insurance organizations.

This position will focus on managing strategic opportunities and partnerships on behalf of Amazon Pharmacy to drive growth and foster patient-centric initiatives for Health Insurance organizations (i.e. Payers) and other strategic partners. This role will be instrumental in fostering pharmacy relationships with payer organizations that desire innovation and an easy customer experience. This role will manage critical relationships with external business partners and support the creation of new products and services that will drive growth and innovation across the pharmaceutical industry.

This role will support and execute on the Amazon Pharmacy vision, by driving the growth and profitability of the business through business development activities which may include (Request for Proposals (RFPs) support, contract negotiations, sales presentations, business reviews, etc.). Within the first year this individual contributor will support and grow existing relationships and strongly influence the business development team’s trajectory.

You will work with a dynamic set of pharmacy leaders across multiple departments including, but not limited too, Pharmacy Operations, Marketing, Account Services, Data Analytics, Product and Fulfillment.

Key job responsibilities

Partner with counterparts on the Health Insurer's team to create a differentiated member experience.

Identify opportunities to drive member education and adoption of Amazon Pharmacy

Develop and implement business strategies

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • 3+ yrs overall experience preferably in Pharmacy Benefit Management, health insurance or pharmacy industry experience with a focus on business development, marketing or managed care, product or innovation.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with an ability to work and thrive in ambiguity, at a rapid work pace.

  • Light travel required. Domestic travel less than 25%.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Highly comfortable with supporting the BD leads with the full go-to-market end-to-end process, supporting client relationships at the SVP and C-Suite level, supporting the creation and negotiation services and collaboration agreements, managing large strategic accounts and working closely with program design and implementation teams. You will also have a strong understanding of the pharmacy supply chain and market applicability.

  • Comfort working on initiatives with the support of senior team members, helping to develop ideas supported by data, plans, and deliverables.

  • Demonstrate clear, concise, written and oral communication.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $66,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $159,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
