The Microsoft Federal organization was established to address the unique mission, legal/regulatory requirements, and procurement rules and processes of the United States Government (USG). The Business Manager for the US Federal Defense Business Unit Customer Success team plays a pivotal role in accelerating revenue, market share and strategic business outcomes by establishing and fostering collaborative partnerships within the business unit and with other Federal and Microsoft organizational leaders and stakeholders, role owners, Finance partners, HR partners, talent management, CELA/Government Affairs and other appropriate stakeholders in the U.S. and across the globe.
Support and execute rhythm of business activities; includes driving the overall cadence, preparation of materials and presenters, and post-event surveys and feedback for all-hands, business reviews, offsites and other events
Business operations management: work across a wide group of stakeholders to ensure timely, high quality and consistent completion of business operation activities across the org to achieve overall business priorities
Budget and financial management; Manage the discretionary team budget, in collaboration with finance controllers and budget stakeholders, and in full compliance with Microsoft policies
Support people related business processes such as talent discussions, MS Poll action planning, and other cultural and morale initiatives
Develop high impact communications for executive, manager-level, and organization-wide audiences
Partner with other Federal stakeholder groups such as DoD Chief of Staff and other Business Managers within Federal (CIV & Intel)
5 plus years of business program management, business operations and/or consulting.
Outstanding project management skills to organize a busy workload and deliver projects on time
Ability to partner with cross-functional teams in highly matrixed and global environment
Impeccable attention to detail and a relentless focus on execution with the highest degree of quality
Excellent written and interpersonal communication and collaboration skills
Ability to work with a variety of people across the organization, including senior leaders, individual contributors and support staff
Ability to translate ideas into clear, high impact communications
Ability to maintain good judgment in fast-paced, high-stress environments
Ability to excel in an ambiguous environment and effectively triage several competing priorities
Experience in building effective business processes for diverse teams
Bachelor’s degree or 8 years’ equivalent experience. MBA preferred.
The successful candidate must be a U.S. Citizen and the ability to obtain and maintain a US Security Clearance. Citizenship Verification: This position requires verification of US Citizenship to meet federal government security requirements.
Cloud Screening: Candidates must be able to successfully complete and pass a Microsoft Cloud background screening. Required Cloud Screenings will be administered on a recurring bi-annual basis.
