Position summary:

This is an exciting new team in the Nuance Auto division, focused on aligning expense governance to modern hosting strategies. The team will provide cost, performance and capacity analytics critical to supporting a world class business running leading edge voice recognition and human understanding software in a multi-cloud hosting environment. You’ll work in a data driven group that prides its self in simplifying highly complex data analytics in order to provide powerful insight that will guide all levels of the business in making informed decisions, from C level to the feet on the ground.

Principal duties and responsibilities:

  • Develop and operationalize cost models that are flexible and easy to iterate

  • Coordinate with engineers and researchers to inform, adapt and maintain the cost models

  • Build insights dashboards to democratize cost and performance insights to stake holders

  • Develop cost governance policies

  • Inform current and forecast budgets

  • Develop cost presentation and regular reviews

  • Perform tasks related to securing and keeping the products, tools, and processes that you are responsible for securing

Education: 5yrs with a Bachelor with strong analytics, or 3yrs with a Masters with strong analytics

Required skills:

  • Strong Statistical Analytics Skills

  • Strong technical capabilities – ability to comprehend building blocks of the technical/software stack/design and apply to various analysis, forecasting and modelling tasks.

  • Strong communications and presentation skills

  • Data hungry technical analyst – capable data analyst passionate about running various and ad hoc technical data analyses, making the data “speak” and helping to inform critical decision making

  • Organized, motivated,passionate, enthusiastic

  • Experience with data mining and data visualization

  • Scripting or programming skills (perl, python, bash)

  • Strong excel skills

Preferred skills:

  • Experience with a public cloud billing API, preferably Azure

  • General financial understanding and related tasks – billing, accruals, allocations

  • Erlang capacity planning
