Change Healthcare Business Systems Analyst - Decision Support in Boston, Massachusetts

Business Systems Analyst 3 – Decision SupportOverview of Position The Business Systems Analyst is a seasoned, experienced professional and will analyze complex business problems to be solved with automated systems. Identifies gaps and provides technical expertise in business requirements for system functional specifications and scales new and current systems, processes, and procedures in a cost-effective manner. Configures system settings and options; plans and executes unit, integration and acceptance testing to meet business requirements. Designs details of automated systems. May provide consultation to users in the area of automated systems. May lead cross-functional linked teams to address business or systems issues. Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Networks with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise. Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work, general instructions on new assignments. What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?

  • Troubleshoots and diagnoses, through research and due diligence, complex business and customer issues involving evidence-based clinical decision support criteria, EHR integrations, AWS infrastructure and APIs

  • Leads or performs analysis of business and user needs, constructs requirements documentation, translates functional and non-functional requirements into proper system requirement specifications, and reviews requirements and specifications with internal and external stakeholders

  • Collaborates with Product and Engineering to request system enhancements and modifications to support industry and company initiatives

  • Communicates the business/product directives, goals, and needs to the technical team and serves as an information source and communicator between business branches

  • Recognizes and identifies potential areas where existing business services policies and procedures require change, or where new ones need to be developed and makes recommendations in these areas

What are the requirements needed for this position?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience

  • 5+ years of professional experience in a technical and analytical, preferably healthcare, role

  • Strong understanding and breadth of experience with technical systems, including API’s

  • Strong understanding of the healthcare industry and experience working with or supporting Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems (specifically CERNER or EPIC)

  • Knowledge of Agile principals and experience working with an Agile development team

  • Outstanding problem-solving skills and experience researching and resolving customer issues

  • Experience eliciting requirements, using various techniques, from stakeholders, authoring user stories and acceptance criteria which meet INVEST criteria

  • Experience writing complex SQL queries, creating UI wireframes, and analyzing data in JSON formatted files

What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?

  • One to two years of project or team lead experience

  • Agile, SAFe Agile Certifications

  • Experience using API platform tools, such as Postman

  • Experience in a Clinical Healthcare setting

What are the working conditions and physical requirements of this job?

General office duties and remote working environment

How much should I expect to travel?

Less than 10% travel
