We are looking for a Climate & Sustainability Leader to join our multidisciplinary Boston, MA office. You would be a key member of our Americas East climate and sustainability portfolio (CSSP) leadership team, growing work and delivering groundbreaking consulting and design projects for key clients in the Greater Boston region.

The Opportunity

  • Lead bids for climate and sustainability projects, and work with other Arup teams to support bidding for multidisciplinary projects.

  • Collaborate with clients and project managers to seamlessly incorporate sustainability into project implementation, encompassing work scopes, programs, responsibilities, and outcomes.

  • Develop long term relationships with key individuals and engage in broader business development activities including speaking events, articles and engagement in cross-industry working groups.

  • Support the annual plan for delivery of climate & sustainability services to the Boston market in line with the regional and global strategy.

  • Advise clients on dynamic regulations in the Boston region, as well as the evolving industry approach to sustainability, including the intersection of decarbonization, resilience and equity.

  • Lead project work with clients advising on portfolio- and master plan-level sustainability and resilience strategies and frameworks.

  • Work with multidisciplinary project teams to develop sustainability visions and strategies for buildings projects of various scales, primarily with Boston clients but also supporting Arup teams in the region.

Is this role right for you?

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Architecture, Engineering, Planning, or Environmental Science.

  • 12+ years of professional experience in the built environment in climate and sustainability services with multidisciplinary teams.

  • Professional Licensure (RA, PE, AICP) – desirable but not crucial.

  • Qualified as LEED AP, WELL AP, ENV SP or similar sustainability credentials.

  • Project management experience for projects of at least $500,000 in fees/project costs.

  • Experience delivering projects to meet Greater Boston region regulations including, but not limited to BERDO, BEUDO, Article 37 and Article 22.

  • Boston market profile through professional relationships and speaking engagements.

  • Established business development track record.

  • Highly motivated and willing to tackle new challenges.

Boston Hiring Range - The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performed in Boston is $150,000 to $170,000 per year. This range is commensurate with experience, educational background, and skill level. Benefits are not included in the base salary. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of Boston will differ.
