We treat more than 29,000 patients each year, caring for toddlers, young children, adolescents, and some adults with special health care needs.

Nearly 60 percent of our patients have at least one special health care need. Our team is experienced with caring for patients with special needs and anxiety. The Clinical Practice Administrator II will be responsible for:

  • Managing the daily operational efficiency, throughput and coverage for assigned clinical for dental assistants and dental hygienists.

  • Collaborating with Human Resources, Department Administrator, Attending Physicians, and residents; managing the human resources effectively through efficient staffing, coaching and development of staff, and setting and maintaining high work standards. Delegating authority, responsibility and work appropriately among subordinates or subordinate work units.

  • Monitoring the program budgets together with Administrative Director. Monitoring operational and financial targets and variations in line with budget expectations.

  • Collaborating with Hospital Compliance, physician and nurse leaders to manage compliance with government regulations and third party payor requirements.

  • Acting as administrative liaison between the department and hospital departments, which may include ISD, Facilities, SPD, Marketing, outside vendors and contractors. Serving as the principle liaison to any other hospital on joint matters and shared programs. Serving on hospital task forces and committees, as appropriate.

  • Interacting routinely with the corresponding Program Chiefs, Hospital Department Administrators, Nursing leadership, respective Program physicians/referring physicians and their offices.

  • Participating and/or providing administrative support to Chiefs and nurse leaders in the development and ongoing improvement of disease-specific clinical outcome metrics. Directs and develops staff to look at service delivery workflows and processes and identifies opportunities for improvement of these outcome metrics.

  • Collaborating with Hospital personnel and Departmental faculty to plan and implement the strategic vision for the clinical components of the department’s mission.

    To qualify, you must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration or related field preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience, including at least two years of supervisory or management experience. Additional years of experience may substitute for a degree.

  • Prior Dentistry experience preferred.

  • Work requires the knowledge and skills necessary to solve complex problems in the areas of clinical/research operations, business planning, financial management, marketing, personnel and information systems management.

  • Work requires the ability to effectively manage the employees within assigned unit/department and to influence and negotiate with peer level managers on issues and programs that impact assigned unit/department.

  • Work requires effectively dealing with conflicting views or issues and mediating fair and workable solutions.
