Citizens Bank Commercial Real estate Loan Specialist II in Boston, Massachusetts

Commercial Real Estate Loan Servicing Specialist II is accountable for the analysis and execution of a wide range of commercial operational processes for moderately complex commercial client loan structures including construction/tenant improvement, lines of credit, term and syndicated. Performs high dollar value monetary transactions and non-monetary transactions that have regulatory reporting and customer impact. General understanding of commercial loan accounting principles and practices to ensure transactions and in process items are handled accurately and within established service levels. Daily responsibilities include applying and enforcing risk mitigation controls, maintaining a high level of data stewardship, adhering to Bank policies, procedures and regulatory requirements, while providing exceptional customer service to internal and external commercial and small business clients. Working knowledge of and compliance to commercial credit policy, regulations, accounting principles, loan terms and conditions. It is expected that the position holder will perform responsibilities with periodic oversight and general supervisory intervention. Colleagues within this role may be part of a team located in multiple states/bank locations. It is expected that the position holder has extensive commercial real estate loan servicing experience and independently performs responsibilities with limited direction.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and service all commercial construction, acquisition/development, Tenant Improvement, CAPEX. lines of credit and term loans.

  • Processes draw requests and change orders, by preparing, collecting, and reviewing required documents adhering to draw management policy and procedures.

  • Orders inspections and provides a thorough review of inspection reports to inform funding advice.

  • Works with title companies and other third-party providers to secure the required documents

  • Communicates and exchanges information with loan stakeholders regarding status updates and next steps

  • Understands the construction budget and how it pertains to the construction project

  • Understands the construction budget and how it pertains to the construction project

  • Maintains and tracks construction project schedules/deadlines

  • Ensures SLA’s are met and report any deviations

  • Communicates effectively with Team Members, Clients, and Vendors

  • Ensure the construction loan monitoring process complies with the bank’s construction loan policy and related guidance

  • Provide exceptional client service to our internal stakeholders and clients

  • Ensure a high level of data integrity on the banks loan accounting systems

  • Initiates corrective action to remediate inaccuracies or exceptions with customer or bank impact.

  • Effectively researches and responds to bank auditors and the bank’s risk department

  • Complies fully with all Bank Operational and Credit policies and procedures as well as all regulatory requirements

  • Develops activities that ensure that key performance indicators and service levels are met.

  • Independently initiates and executes commercial loan transactions with a high level of accuracy that meet customer and business partner expectations

  • Prioritizes work in a time-sensitive manner.

  • Resolves complex customer issues with minimal guidance, escalating as appropriate.

  • Customer base includes those with specialized service requirements and subsequently, additional compliance requirements.

  • Maintains every loan file to Land Gorilla standards, with accurate and up-to-date notes, regular follow up, and timely and professional communication

  • Ensures strict confidentiality regarding all business and client matters/documents

  • Ensures SLA’s are met and report any deviations

  • Communicates effectively with Team Members, Clients, and Vendors

Qualifications

  • 5 years construction loan monitoring experience

  • 5 years commercial loan servicing experience

  • Strong organizational, quantitative, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to multi-task while remaining attentive to details

  • Excellent customer service skills with a naturally positive demeanor

  • Comfortable with software and technology

  • Understanding of AIA documents, Insurance policies and Title documents

  • Ability to meet deadlines

  • Ability to perform multiple assignments without immediate supervision

  • 5 years commercial loan servicing experience

  • 5 years construction loan monitoring experience
