We observed that across the healthcare ecosystem, a vast amount of digital healthcare data is being generated, fueled by technologies such as next-generation sequencing (“NGS”). This data holds promise to accelerate our understanding of biology and disease. However, the data has remained siloed and complex and has not been fully leveraged for the benefit of patients.

We founded SOPHiA GENETICS to change this. We are unlocking data silos, leveraging artificial intelligence to generate actionable insights from data, and helping healthcare professionals work together as a community to deploy their collective expertise. Our goal is to empower clinicians and researchers around the world to practice data-driven medicine and improve clinical and scientific outcomes.

SOPHiA GENETICS is looking for a talented Corporate Strategy Associate to join our team. The position will be located in the USA and office-based (Boston, MA) with remote flexibility.

As a Corporate Strategy Associate, you will have the opportunity help shape and create SOPHiA’s long-term growth strategy. This includes building and implementing strategic plans for the company, driving alignment across functional teams, and accelerating execution of key strategic initiatives. This will be a key role within the Corporate Strategy team with the ability to work cross-functionally and use quantitative and qualitative insights to drive strategy and transformation across the organization.

You Will:

  • Support the development of our long-range business plan and conduct comprehensive analyses of build, buy, or partner approaches for our strategic goals;

  • Drive analyses for business leaders to support critical decisions about business strategy, sales & operations strategy, and people strategy;

  • Analyze data, both quantitative and qualitative, and propose creative, cross-departmental optimizations (outlining potential benefits and considerations);

  • Perform pricing, go-to-market, COGS, and performance analytics to identify and drive efficiencies and help management make well-informed strategic decisions;

  • Propose and create support for solutions to revamp and refine business lines and partnerships to optimize long-term business potential and scalability;

  • Construct executive and Board-level presentations to share key insights and recommendations with company leadership;

  • Develop financial forecasts and targets for strategic projects to evaluate the impact of initiatives and translate insights into memos and presentations for key stakeholders


  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field;

  • 2-5 years of relevant strategy consulting, financial modeling, and strategic planning experience preferably at a top-tier management consulting firm, venture capital / private equity fund, or fast-growing company;

  • Strategic mindset that is highly analytical and detail-oriented and brings a creative mentality to problem-solving;

  • Ability to use problem-solving frameworks to distill complex information into digestible formats that lead to productive insights and discussions;

  • Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment;

  • Strong communication and presentation skills with ability to articulate clearly to executives and key business leaders both internally and externally;

  • Ability to motivate teams and develop buy-in for new initiatives and adherence to overarching corporate goals and our culture of innovation and excellence;

  • Outstanding proficiency in MS Office, particularly PowerPoint and Excel;

  • Self-starter, low-ego mentality and a willingness to always go the extra mile
