Responsibilities
Supervise kitchen team members to ensure adherence to portion sizes, recipes, quality standards, and department policies while maintaining the cleanliness and organization of stations, walk-ins, and freezers
Maintain and operate kitchen equipment, ensuring all items are in full working order and food is prepared, stored, and labeled according to health and safety regulations
Monitor and manage food cost within established parameters, overseeing proper breakdown, rotation, and storage of food to maintain freshness and quality
Prepare food to specifications, utilizing kitchen equipment effectively, and perform opening, closing, and side work duties as per guidelines
Attend kitchen meetings and training sessions, and rotate to other areas as needed while reporting punctually to scheduled events
Qualifications
A minimum of 2 years of experience as a line cook with previous supervisory or lead line cook experience required
Ability to read and understand recipes and food abbreviations
Basic math skills with the ability to understand, calculate, and follow recipe measurements and proportions
Knowledge of basic culinary fundamentals of hot and cold foods
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and carry large pans from ovens or freezers weighing up to 50 pounds
Standing and walking for entire length of shift
