Cervello Inc Data Governance Business Analyst in Boston, Massachusetts

We are looking for a Business Analyst to support the growth of our new fast growing Data Governance (DG) practice area. You will be responsible for working closely with our Data Governance Senior Director in supporting our data governance project workstreams to our various clients. You will have the opportunity to put your footprint on the growth of this team and accelerate delivery for our clients in this domain. The individual in this role must have strong interpersonal and communication skills as well as have the ability to prioritize, organize and coordinate simultaneous projects and tasks.


  • Gather and document Master Data Management (MDM) requirements, by interviewing business and technical stakeholders

  • Take part in creating Data Governance strategies for our clients, by collecting requirements for data governance needs while identifying potential solutions and MDM architecture patterns fit for our client’s use cases

  • Participate in the analysis, architecture, design and development of Master Data Management (MDM) solutions on client projects

  • Participate in the analysis and design of data governance processes to best fit our client’s unique data governance needs across industries

  • Help our clients establish Data Governance programs and drive data ownership into the client businesses

  • Advise clients on the selection, configuration, and implementation of Data Governance technology solutions to support program objectives. (e.g., Data Catalogue, Data Quality, Business Glossary tools)

  • Build workflows in data governance solutions such as Collibra or Alation

  • Help develop and implement plans that will roll out the Data Governance programs within our client’s organizations

  • Learn about the various data governance platforms, their unique capabilities and become an expert on data governance need for the enterprise

    Desired Skills and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or foreign degree equivalent.

  • 2+ years of progressively responsible experience in data and analytics

  • Experience in foundational Data Management domains (Master Data Management, Data Governance, and Data Integration)

  • Strong skills writing SQL queries in Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, or other industry leading RDBMS.

  • Exposure to dimensional data modeling and data warehousing methodologies.

  • Ability to effectively communicate in writing and orally with a wide range of audiences and maintain interpersonal relationships.

  • Ability to work within time constraints and manage multiple tasks against critical deadlines.

  • Ability to perform basic problem solving and apply critical thinking, deductive reason and inductive reasoning to identify solutions.
