Boston University DENTAL ASSISTANT, SDM Endodontics in BOSTON, Massachusetts

Boston University School of Dental Medicine is seeking a surgical Dental Assistant for its Post-doctoral Periodontal Department. An ideal candidate would be an experienced surgical Dental Assistant professional who is self- motivated, a team player with strong interpersonal skills. Our clinic is very busy so the ability to multitask with an attention to detail is a must. Familiarity with Nobel and Straumann implants systems is desired. The person in this position will be expected to provide quality dental care to patients and clinical support to other team members who included residents, faculty and other departments.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Taking digital x-rays and assisting with intraoral photographs

  • Chairside assisting for a variety of Implant and Periodontal procedures utilizing four handed dentistry

  • Distribute bone and membrane, set up requested equipment including Piezotome and Implant machines and assist with periodontal charting Maintain inventory and order supplies to avoid shortages and restock cabinets when indicated

  • Clean, disinfect and organize operatories between patients

  • Practice and adhere to infection control guidelines and OSHA and HIPPA regulations

Required Skills

  • 1-3 years of work experience required.

  • HS Diploma is required. Vocational/Technical training is preferred.

  • Candidate must possess a MA State License and be currently CPR certified. Practice and adhere to OSHA and HIPAA guidelines.
