Robert Half Developer / Database Developer - Advanced in Boston, Massachusetts

Description We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for an Advanced Developer/Database Developer. This role is based in Boston, Massachusetts, and operates in a hybrid workplace, requiring the successful candidate to be onsite for four days. The job function is primarily within the finance industry, specifically in the banking domain. As a Developer/Database Developer, you will be responsible for a range of tasks, including software development, data modeling, and database design.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop software applications according to business requirements, coordinating effectively between business analysts, developers, and the testing team.

• Demonstrate proficiency in Oracle RDBMS PL/SQL, AWS RDS, PostgreSQL, and Redshift.

• Deploy high performing, bug-free code in production.

• Execute unit tests of data populated in target data containers, validating expected results, and ensuring quality and accuracy.

• Participate in technical design, application build configuration, unit testing, and production deployment.

• Provide technical expertise and ownership in the diagnosis and resolution of issues, including the determination and provision of workaround solutions or escalation to service owners.

• Maintain a strong development ethic, with a focus on designing, developing, and deploying complex applications based databases.

• Engage in a mixture of coding, design, and support activities.

• Contribute to cloud-based database engineering platforms in the financial services industry.

• Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action based on the data.

• Process customer credit applications accurately and efficiently, maintaining accurate customer credit records. Requirements • Proven experience in database development and optimization

• Proficiency in SQL, GitHub, and AWS technologies

• Expertise in R Code and Cloud technologies

• Knowledge of financial services and finance principles

• Experience with storage and configuration management

• Understanding of business requirement document creation

• Familiarity with quality control and compliance measures

• Ability to troubleshoot and provide workstation support

• Proficiency in coding and working with suppliers

• Experience in production and security protocols

• Knowledge of 'About Time' software will be a plus

• Ability to provide training on new systems and policies

• Onsite availability when required
