What You Will Do :
Guidehouse is responsible for architecting and developing systems for commercial and federal clients that is in a process of modernizing their portfolios of web applications Azure, AWS and GCP cloud environments. This is an exciting opportunity to work on an enterprise-level applications as part of a collaborative team.
Our team designs, develops and deploys application incrementally using agile and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) processes. The DevOps engineer’s responsibilities include:
Design, implementation, and management of the DevSecOps activities.
Enhance the deployment process by improving the usability, effectiveness, and quality associated with deployment process that focuses on pipelined and automated builds.
Develop and manage processes that ensure code quality is maintained through all phases of development and deployment through to production.
Integrate security scanning to the CI/CD pipeline to automate security vulnerabilities identification and reporting.
Collaborate with the development, operations and security teams to integrate security controls and best practices into the application development process, and to triage and remediate security vulnerabilities.
Create automation scripts to deploy applications in Azure cloud environments using server-based and service-based configurations.
Investigate, debug, and drive improvements to engineering/build automation processes.
Support and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of tools (CI/CD, automated testing, automated security / code quality scanning, and release management)
Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to ensure the security and availability of cloud-based infrastructure.
Manage applications’ infrastructure and configuration, as well as ensure systems and services are leveraging best practices and standards.
Develop and maintain documentation for DevSecOps processes, procedures, and configuration management.
Mentor and coach less experienced team members.
Participate in solutions architecture.
What You Will Need :
BA/BS Degree.
Degree can be substituted with 4 additional years of work experience.
6+ years of relevant professional experience.
Subject matter expertise in designing, implementing, and improving cloud-based application deployment automation.
Hands on experience with CI/CD and deployment of software solutions to Azure cloud environment.
Experience with creating automated pipeline deployment scripts using Azure DevOps that include regularly scheduled builds, automated testing (unit, functional and regression), security and code quality scanning.
Strong understanding of configuration management.
Strong knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python) for CI/CD automation.
Strong knowledge of build code repositories (e.g., Git, BitBucket, SVN, etc.)
Strong knowledge of security scanning and code quality tools (e.g., SonarQube, Netsparker/Invicti, etc.)
Experience in implementing and managing containerized applications using Azure App Service, Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Experience developing and maintaining DevSecOps documentation.
Ability to obtain a Public Trust level clearance.
What Would Be Nice To Have :
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Math or related technical majors.
Familiarity with NIH.
Experience working in an agile/scrum environment.
Experience with other cloud environments (e.g., GCP, AWS.)
Experience with both Linux and Windows-based software deployment.
The annual salary range for this position is $119,800.00-$179,700.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
