Fidelity Investments Director, Fidelity Consulting in Boston, Massachusetts

_Position Description_:

Aims to solve critical business issues including, new product and device development, enhancing existing products and services, customer capture and retention, growing customer spending (geographic expansion), mergers and acquisitions, partnerships, cost management, competitive and market analysis, operations, emerging technology and technology improvements, and organization redesign.

_Primary Responsibilities_:

  • Provides technical and strategic guidance on a variety of information technology, strategy development, new business, and business optimization projects and initiatives

  • Directs and executes various analysis, including market analysis, internal capability assessment, competitor intelligence, customer research, product assessment, and financial analysis/modeling.

  • Interacts with Fidelity personnel at various levels, including senior executives, to gather data and build consensus.

  • Conducts secondary research to understand industry trends, competitors, customers, regulatory changes, or technology changes.

  • Works closely with business unit personnel to implement recommendations.

  • Delegates work streams to team members to ensure culmination of work streams result in an output that aligns with client expectations.

  • Conducts, directs, and executes primary or secondary research and analysis to obtain qualitative and quantitative data.

  • Develops and stress tests insights and conclusions from quantitative and qualitative analysis and research against benchmarks, requirements, and hurdle rates.

  • Provides data visualizations and charts to illustrate findings and support the presentation and defense of hypotheses.

  • Identifies, launches, and develops growth strategies and initiatives using structured and unstructured data.

  • Gathers critical data to monitor tactical and strategic developments.

  • Gathers internal and external stakeholder perspectives on existing impact measurement practices to identify best practices for measuring impact of deliverables in focus areas.

_Education and Experience_:

Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Business Administration, Management, Finance, or a closely related field and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or five (5) years of experience working in management consulting for product strategy, operations, and business development within the asset management industry, or in a customer/advisor-facing investment product servicing, operations, and administration role within an asset management firm.

Or, alternatively, Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Business Administration, Management, Finance, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or three (3) years of experience working in management consulting for product strategy, operations, and business development within the asset management industry, or in a customer/advisor-facing investment product servicing, operations, and administration role within an asset management firm.

_Skills and Knowledge_:

Candidate must also possess:

· Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) designing or executing business processes supporting asset management distribution and servicing operations, including account opening and administration, fund switch/trading, investment requests, withdrawals and money movement, marketing/product education, online access, customer service interactions, and problem resolution.

· DE executing customer-facing business activities -- for internal and external stakeholders -- including developing and delivering materials for customer presentations, direct customer interactions both in writing and in person, organizing sessions to review progress, historical performance, financial or asset projections, risks, and new ideas to inform and influence client and manager decision-making within an asset management environment.

· DE designing or executing business processes for the distribution, administration, and management of multiple financial instruments -- segregated, pooled, and mutual funds, alternative investments, and emerging instruments (multi-strategy funds) -- for multiple customer segments (retail, advisor, private client/HNW, and institutional clientele).

· DE analyzing or executing business processes using asset management and asset management distribution technologies and processes, including CRM systems, trade entry systems portfolio management systems, tracking capital commitments, asset allocation, benchmark selection, performance calculations, and attribution analysis.
