Boston University DIRECTOR FOR FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION, Enrollment and Student Administration in BOSTON, Massachusetts

We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated Director for Finance and Administration for Boston University's Enrollment and Student Administration (ENSA) unit. The Director manages human resource, financial, and general administrative operations and manages a finance and administrative team for ENSA in a central, shared service and support model. The Director is responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and managing the ENSA operational, salary, restricted/grants funding, and income budgets ($20+M annually). The Director supports ENSA managers in 9 departments with organizational changes, promotions, and position creation. The Director oversees the annual performance review process in ENSA. The Director's team provides administrative functions to support 250 employees including purchasing, employee onboarding/offboarding support, staff development initiatives, DEI stewardship, as well as other administrative services associated with day-to-day operations and budget planning. This position is also responsible for working with the Vice President and departmental leaders to assist with greater understanding of budgets, staffing and salaries, providing tools for accurate forecasting and financial benchmarking.

Required Skills

A cover letter is required for consideration.

  • Master's Degree or equivalent experience required

  • 12+ years of relevant financial, budgeting and/or accounting experience

  • 8+ years of demonstrated leadership in an organization with greater than 100 employees

  • Strong financial analysis and reporting skill, and proficiency using analytical tools including Excel, Power BI (or equivalent), etc.

  • Demonstrated experience supervising, and developing a team

  • Proven record of taking initiative to innovate and improve procedures

  • Collaborative problem-solving skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • High degree of discretion managing confidential employee and organizational data
