Manulife Director of AI Delivery and Program Management in Boston, Massachusetts
The Director of AI Delivery and Program Management, reporting to the US Insurance Head of AI/Advanced Analytics, is a program-focused professional dedicated to delivering on our US Insurance Advanced Analytics priorities. This individual is passionate about customer satisfaction and eager to lead a prominent, strategic transformation for our business.. As a key member of the US AI/Advanced Analytics leadership team, the desired candidate will lead and implement the Gen AI and machine learning program as well as work across multiple collaborators across US and the global Advanced Analytics function.
We are seeking a candidate who is goal-oriented and has a proven ability to deliver visible programs that drive tangible business results. This individual will be leading a broad projects portfolio and can assess the best delivery method to apply to the program. Experience in delivering analytics/AI projects is needed.
Position Responsibilities:
Responsible for driving the US Segment Advanced Analytics & Gen AI program in collaboration with multiple functional and business collaborators.
Establishes a single program view of multiple projects and prepares a portfolio view for senior executive updates.
Sees the big picture and has a vision for alternative approaches to getting the job done.
Manages the overall AA/Gen AI use case intake/acceleration process and coordinates projects through all phases of initiation, development, and implementation.
Works with Product Owner, AA Leads, Business/Functional Stakeholders, strategy teams to define and manage the scope, strategy, requirements, and end-to-end execution of projects.
Ensures that assigned projects are completed within budgets and schedules while meeting business objectives.
Governance the project portfolio against metrics and goals and advances if needed.
Develop and present project and portfolio status updates, findings, and/or recommendations to an Executive audience.
Required Qualifications:
7-10 years of hands-on experience in program delivery, execution excellence and expertise in managing project methodologies
Proven track record in delivering a program that brings in technologies / capabilities into a large organization with the goal of transforming the business and unlocking significant business value.
Ability to communicate effectively in both technical and non-technical terms, verbal and written, to both a Senior Executive audience and project delivery teams; able to effectively articulate the business opportunity, solution vision, possibilities, and outcomes to technical and non-technical audience.
Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills; has experience in collaborating and partnering with business/functional collaborators, data scientists, data engineers, architects, and vendor SMEs across a global, distributed environment.
Demonstrated success in effectively monitoring and reporting program updates, risks, and blocking issues.
Strong analytical skills, copes with complex situations using both skills and experience to lead to the right outcomes.
Use knowledge of the subject area to suggest alternate approach options to leadership based on current project obstacles and objectives.
Proactively motivated to learn new technologies and stay current with market trends.
Preferred Qualifications:
Exposure to machine learning and large language models (LLMs) or other generative AI capabilities
Experience in managing and delivering large-scale analytics/AI projects involving cross-functional technical teams, business partners, and change management partners is a plus.

Salary range is expected to be between
$120,750.00 USD - $217,350.00 USD
