Sungage Financial Director of Finance in Boston, Massachusetts

The Director of Finance is responsible for running financial and managerial accounting for the company. The Director of Finance contributes individually to FP&A responsibilities and will oversee the financial accounting team. The ideal candidate will not only have strong technical skills, but is able to i) build and drive new processes and initiatives and ii) coordinate across functional areas (revenue operations, capital markets, funding operations, business intelligence, sales). In addition, the Director of Finance should have strong communications skills, able to present to all levels of the organization as well as to outside stakeholders (board, investors, funding counter parties).

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide senior management with timely, accurate and comprehensive view into near term and long range financial forecasts

  • Partner with Capital Markets to evaluate complex funding strategies

  • Create financial impact analyses for strategic decisions across the company (e.g. new products, pricing changes, funding structures, hiring, etc)

  • Help draft investor presentations, board meeting materials, and other ad hoc analyses

  • Provide analytical support in driving the next fiscal year's target setting and planning process; enhance visibility and decision-making support to financial and cross-functional leadership

  • Partner cross-functionally to help develop flexible long-term operating models that guide decision-making and accountability around the company

  • Facilitate and drive frequent ad hoc and targeted projects to support key business decisions

  • In addition, the Director of Finance will oversee the financial accounting team in carrying out their responsibilities, which include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensure timely delivery of audited and unaudited financial reporting to the management team on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.

  • Management of annual GAAP audit

  • Ensure all invoices and accruals are entered correctly, cash is reconciled, and AP and AR are properly cleared on a timely manner

  • Tax reporting and filing

  • Loan level accounting: Account for the loan level detail accounting in accordance with GAAP for the loans held on the balance sheet

  • Manage Treasury Operations for all entities including the Management Company

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

  • 7-10+ years of a combination of FP&A and financial accounting

  • GAAP accounting knowledge

  • Advanced knowledge of Excel

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Successful working independently, strong decision making ability

  • COVID-19 Vaccinated
