Red Hat Director of Global Certification in Boston, Massachusetts

About the Job

Red Hat is seeking a dynamic and experienced leader for our industry-recognized certification program. As Director of Certification, you will lead a global team who is responsible for the design, development and implementation of technical performance based exams for our customers, partners and employees. . This role is a great fit for a strategic doer who excels at partnering with a diverse set of stakeholders and is passionate about skill validation. This role will support the Red Hat Global Learning Services business as well as Red Hat Academy. You will report directly to the Senior Director of Product and Technical Learning.

What You Will Do

  • Develop and lead a global team of 20+ certification team members

  • Manage a portfolio of over 60 certifications and specialist exams

  • Manage certifications and assessments through the product lifecycle

  • Manage cross-functional collaboration to ensure successful product design, development, and delivery

  • Develop organizational strategy, goals and metrics

  • Provide strategic thought leadership to certification development solutions

  • Ensure continued integrity throughout certifications portfolio

  • Grow both the number of certified individuals and overall certifications in the marketplace

  • Expand marketplace by developing new markets by exploring complementary adjacent areas to Red Hat’s technology and through various exam options within academia

  • Drive innovation and change in collaboration with training partners to maintain the reputation as industry-leading certifications

  • Drive standardized and scalable processes throughout product lifecycle

  • Implement operational efficiencies to enable portfolio growth

  • Maximize resource utilization while decreasing time-to-market

  • Implement new products and services to meet candidate needs and improve candidate experience

  • Evaluate certification metrics and determine solutions for exam improvement

  • Work cross-functionally with GLS resource managers and stakeholders

  • Identify areas of improvement in the use of systems and tools (policy, procedure, procurement, access control, etc.)

  • Execute all Red Hat manager duties including quarterly connections, semi-annual reviews and resource/career planning

  • Mentor and coach Certification team

  • Plan for and implement individual and team training programs

  • Respond/resolve all management level customer service escalations

  • Manage team budget,, SOWs, and purchasing, contractor and vendor agreements

What You Will Bring

  • Post-graduate degree in relevant disciplines or equivalent experience preferred

  • 7+ years exam development/evaluation experience required

  • IT testing and certification experience preferred

  • Ability to work independently with only minimal management oversight, and exercise broad independent judgment

  • Ability to build relationships and influence at all levels with Red Hat employees, partners and customers

  • Excellent written, oral, presentation and interpersonal skills

  • Strong organizational skills, time management skills and attention to detail

The salary range for this position is $165,230.00 - $280,890.00. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.

Pay Transparency

Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat’s compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity. For positions with Remote-US locations, the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
