Clover Food Lab Director of Hospitality in Boston, Massachusetts

Clover is a beloved Boston-area restaurant chain and meal box delivery. We source sustainably from local farms and artisanal makers in order to produce the most delicious food possible—and fight climate change at the same time.

We’re seeking a Director of Hospitality who will lead our General Managers in creating an exceptional guest experience within our 13 restaurants. Along with being a point of mentorship, you will be assisting with recruiting, team development, customer service, and driving team performance. You will lead in creating a restaurant experience that exceeds guest expectations every time they eat with us!

This is a full-time salary role and will report to the Chief Marketing Officer. Due to the hands-on nature of the role, we’re interested in local candidates only who can commute to the Boston/Cambridge area.

The Director of Hospitality is required to:

  • Train, develop, motivate, and mentor General Managers to create beautiful food, customer experiences, and positive team performance

  • Maximize sales and profitability

  • Be well-versed in business trends to drive performance

  • Work closely with the Leadership team in improving and growing the Clover standard of customer service

  • Provide your team with stimulating and supportive environment

  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Director of Hospitality must have:

  • 3+ years of experience in a General Manager, Food and Beverage Manager, or similar position

  • Previous experience in a multi-unit restaurant, retail, or grocery

  • Demonstrated ability to motivate and lead others; be able to effectively manage and engage with a team of 150+ hourly associates

  • Comfortable using software platforms for scheduling, ordering, inventory, and data analysis

  • Acute financial management skills; P&L experience

  • Decision making ability and senses of responsibility

  • A passion for food, positive attitude, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, forward thinking environment

  • Enjoy being on the ground rolling your sleeves up and getting the job done

  • The ability to stand for prolonged periods of time and repeated walking, bending, stretching, and occasional lifting (up to 50 lbs.) with or without reasonable accommodation

  • Able to work a varied schedule that includes nights and weekends
