  • Provide 24-hour supervision of daily clinical and administrative operations for our 14 bed Inpatient Stem Cell Transplant (SCT) unit, treating infants to young adults undergoing stem cell transplant for malignant and non-malignant diseases.

  • Develop, implement and evaluate strategic interdisciplinary programs which are consistent with the mission, values and goals of Children's Hospital.

  • Provide visionary leadership to individuals and interdisciplinary teams which serve to support patients receiving stem cell transplant therapy and their families.

  • Collaborate with senior leadership, management and physician colleagues to balance staffing needs, advance quality strategies, ensure a professional work environment, and enhance patient satisfaction.

  • Develop, recommend and implement internal standards, policies and procedures to improve quality and cost-effectiveness of patient care.

  • Ensure continuous compliance with all regulatory bodies, including and not limited to Joint Commission, CMS, and Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapies (FACT).

  • Develop and ensure compliance with nursing policies and procedures, standards of patient care and nursing practice.

  • Lead and participate in hospital, departmental and multidisciplinary programs, committees and special projects.

  • Request and allocate resources and facilitating coordination of care/services to meet patient care and operations requirements.

  • Hire, supervise and evaluate nursing and clinical support staff.

  • Create an environment which fosters excellence, sensitivity, teamwork and leadership.

  • Interact and communicate with all levels of staff, physicians, patients and families in an effective manner. Exhibits tact, enthusiasm, patience and cultural sensitivity in all communications.

  • Provide leadership for the development of and/or participation in studies, research, publications and public presentations. Maintain professional liaison with area schools and universities.

To qualify, you must have:

  • Licensed in MA as a registered nurse.

  • 10 years of RN experience with progressive management/leadership experience.

  • SCT or Hematology/Oncology and pediatric experience highly preferred.

  • MSN or MSN enrollment required

  • Clinical specialty certification (BMTCN or CPHON) and nursing leadership certification (NE-BC/NEA-BC) strongly preferred.
