The Director of Operations for Civil Duct Bank work is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution and delivery of all civil duct bank projects. This role ensures projects are completed safely, efficiently, on time, and within budget, while maintaining the highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction. The Director will lead cross-functional teams, develop operational strategies, and establish best practices to support the growth and profitability of our civil duct bank work.
This position allows for remote work or placement at any of our offices within the Northeast region. Regular travel to project sites and team meetings within the region is required.
Key Responsibilities:Oversee daily operations of civil duct bank projects, ensuring adherence to project plans, specifications, safety standards, and contractual obligations.
Lead and mentor project management teams to ensure consistency in execution and operational excellence.
Develop and implement processes and tools to drive efficiency, reduce risk, and improve project outcomes.
Collaborate with estimating and engineering teams during project planning phases to ensure constructability and cost-effectiveness.
Monitor project performance, including budgets, schedules, and resource allocation.
Resolve operational issues, mitigate risks, and ensure alignment with client expectations.
Promote a culture of safety, ensuring adherence to all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
Conduct regular safety audits and enforce corrective actions as needed.
Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing operations team, including project managers, superintendents, and foremen.
Provide coaching and performance feedback to ensure team members meet professional growth objectives.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring satisfaction and repeat business.
Act as the primary point of contact for client concerns, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
Identify opportunities for growth in the civil duct bank market and develop strategies to capitalize on them.
Collaborate with senior leadership to align operational goals with the company’s overall objectives.
Monitor industry trends and innovations to keep the company at the forefront of the market.
Skills and Competencies
Strong knowledge of civil duct bank construction methods, materials, and equipment.
Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects, budgets, and schedules.
Exceptional leadership and team-building skills.
Proficiency in project management software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
10+ years of experience in civil construction, with at least 5 years in a leadership role overseeing duct bank or utility projects.
