Established in 2006, The William J. Ostiguy High School is the first high school in the nation to be accredited by the Association of Recovery Schools. Serving 75 students annually, we feature small class sizes, certified teachers with expertise in both their subject area and working with youth in recovery, afterschool and summer opportunities for tutoring and catching up with course credits, along with standardized test preparation to address students\' specific needs. Join us as a Director in creating a supportive and enriching environment for students in our community. Key Responsibilities Lead every facet of the high school program. Develop and implement curriculum. Oversee instruction. Determine disciplinary procedures. Establish relationships with businesses, therapeutic agencies and parent communities. Interview and select staff and students. Oversee the daily operation of the school throughout the year. Ensure a safe and nurturing environment for students, staff and families. Demonstrate cultural competencies and anti-racist leadership through behaviors and decision-making. Analyze student performance data to inform school improvement efforts and benchmark progress. Perform other related duties as assigned from time to time. Skills, Knowledge and Expertise Minimum of a Bachelor?s degree and certification as a principal/assistant principal/director at the secondary level by the Massachusetts Department of Education and three to five years of experience in leading an alternative school is required. Knowledge of high school-aged youth, their problems and issues, and their academic social, and emotional needs. Knowledge of recovery substance abuse issues.
