WSP is currently initiating a search for a Director, Process Architecture for our Atlanta, GA or Boston, MA office.
Generate architectural and Manufacturing facility Planning design concepts.
Designs and develops production layouts to maximize efficiencies in the manufacturing process and increase productivity.
Plans and conducts activities related to the development of new processes including researching current and emerging technologies, evaluating process cost, quality, and capability alternatives, and performing process characterization and optimization using designed experiments, problem solving, and decision-making tools.
Provides technical expertise in troubleshooting, design, and construction of manufacturing processes, systems and equipment. Recommends and implements improvements and/ or modifications in sequence of operations, equipment utilization, type of equipment to be used, and other process related factors.
Present concepts and planning schemes clearly and concisely to owner’s clients, staff and engineers.
Interface with the Laboratory Planning and Design group, Engineering Groups, Site Planning Group, and other consultants in developing building systems.
Generate and manage development of architectural design drawings, coordinate work, influence specifications and collaborate with discipline leads.
Generate and manage production drawings.
Meet with various public or private entities or individuals to discuss issues relating to a variety of architectural/construction challenges and programs.
Ensure technical reports and presentations explain research, findings, and recommendations to prevent, control, restore, or address design and/or construction issues or opportunities.
Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
Who You Are
Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or Interior Design.
12+ years of professional working experience in the built environment.
Experience in manufacturing facility process planning and layout.
Ability to interpret a building program and generate varied design concepts.
Proficient REVIT and AutoCAD skills, and various graphic and word processing software.
Familiarity with industry lab planning principles, standards, and guidelines.
Knowledge of building and zoning codes.
Knowledge of technical specifications and general conditions.
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
LEED or WELL accreditation.
Knowledge of federal design and technical standards.
Must be a US Citizen - for work on Federal projects.
