TITLE: Human Resources - Benefits Specialist

CONTENT DESCRIPTION: SUMMARY:Administers and maintains the employee benefit programs, leaves of absence, human resources information system and ensures compliance with Federal and State employment law., Administers employee benefits programs to include, medical and dental, vision, life insurance, AD& D, disability, COBRA, and any/all other Goodwill benefits and leave programs. · Administers employee benefit plans; and advises and educates both management and staff on benefits eligibility, enrollment, plan provisions, etc. · First point of contact for employees with benefit issues and inquiries; Researches and responds to all benefits issues and inquiries and ensures quick, equitable and courteous resolutions. Serves as the HR liaison to the insurance carrier representatives to resolve all administrative issues. · Assists in the planning and implementation of the annual open enrollment program. · Verifies, allocates and reconciles the monthly premium statements for all insurance policies and benefit plans. · Assists with administration of 403(b) and 401(a) retirement programs. Prepares spreadsheets and reports for census and audit. · Administers leave of absence programs including FMLA, PFML and others and acts as the HR advisor to employees and supervisors regarding leave eligibility and required documentation; tracks leave time, updates leave of absence dates in HRIS and maintains LOA log. · Reports COBRA qualifying events to third party administrator and ensures compliance with applicable state and federal law, regulations, policy and procedure. * + o · Acts as backup for the HR Specialist and workers' compensation administrator, as needed.Produces HRIS reports as they relate to employment, position, salary, recruitment, benefits, compliance and other human resources reports, as requested. Ensures HR system data integrity, conducting period review and assists with maintenance and enhancement of system as required. · May perform other related duties, as requested. ·

Bachelor's degree preferred or Associate's degree and equivalent experience in HR. ·

Minimum 3 years' experience in Benefits administration. · Strong general knowledge of employment law, HR responsibilities and systems, specifically benefits administration. · Strong computer skills and experience in utilizing HRIS System including report writing - preferably Ceridian. · Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically excel spreadsheets. · Excellent written and oral communication skills. Bi-lingual desired. · Ability to work under pressure in setting subject to frequent interruptions. · Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
